I think most people chose to avoid Sukka because it was too obvious, much like the way they avoid Katang. That and the fact that Sokka forgot all about her when he saw Yue, and then merely used Suki as a rebound when he ran into her again after he'd lost Yue. I mean, talk about a horrible plot twist!
"Hmm, Suki's pretty cute and I do like her...... wait who's that?? Wow she's hot. I love Princess Yue! Oh but now she's dead...... guess I'll go back to Suki......"
Yeah, great job Mike and Bryan...... =P
And most people stay loyal to Tokka because Mike and Bryan were a bunch of a$$holes and teased the crap out of us with the ship with all these little signs and hints just to blow it all off in the end.
I'm a Tokka fan to the end. Just because it's Mike's and Bryan's show doesn't mean they wrote it correctly. It could've and should've been a lot better.

yeah, but there was what, a 4 year diff between them? that's way worse than the 2 years between katara and aang. besides, I'd personally feel really sorry for sokka once things, you know, progressed? she doesn't seem like the type to take it easy on a guy. unless of course he likes that sort of thing, lol. although you do have a point with the whole Yue thing...

Yeah the age difference has always been the killer for Tokka fans. But I've always had hopes. I just wish that they hadn't has continually hinted at it during the last of Book 2 and throughout Book 3. It was the only thing that kept me shipping it. Again, I don't what possessed them to tease the heck out of us but oh well. It's not like it was the only plot hole they left in the series finale.

I think what happened was that Mike and Bryan just had too many unanswered questions and not enough time to answer all of them. In short, they wanted to make the ending as nail-biting as they could but didn't factor in time.
Although Nickelodeon had some say in that as well. Scheduling and anything revolving around it is handled by Nick, who is shoved so far up Spongebob's a$$ that they didn't help Mike and Bryan reach Avatar's full potential. Mike and Bryan made some mistakes with the series, but Nickelodeon sure didn't help.

I can't lie though, I like Spongebob.
but that really is true. avatar wasn't as good as it could have been in the end. it was somewhat disappointing.
